Testimonial Request

Hi all,

I have already posted this in General Discussion but am repeating the request here too:

I have decided that I am going to try for a particular job in health education and outreach.

If you feel that you have personally benefited from nutritional information provided here at TiMS by yours truly, I would be pleased to hear about it for inclusion in my reference files, in the event that I am granted an interview.

You can provide your feedback, if any, either on this thread or by private message if you prefer.

Thanks much all,

Jimmylegs

Jimmylegs, you are an acknowledged expert here at TiMS. You are the one everyone recommends whenever anyone has a question regarding supplements. I have learned from you, and I am grateful for that. A job in health education and outreach would be well suited to your talents and knowledge.

I would echo the positive thoughts expressed here, and say that you have done an excellent job of informing, responding to questions, keeping more than current on nutritional and other scientific topics, and researching answers when they are needed. You go the additional mile and look for answers to questions as they occur to you, and when they appear relevant. I'm sure I speak for many when I give the commendation of someone only qualified by my interest in the topics. I have been fascinated to read your work.

I hope you have every success in your planned endeavors.

I also would like to mention how interesting are information regarding nutrition and supplements from Jimmylegs for me.
I even follow some of her recommends regarding my D3, Calcium, Magnesium and Zinc.
Next blood results tell me what to do next. I also have learned a lot.
Thanks!
Erika

You are "the" reference in matter of nutrition/supplements advice and information on my list. You educated me and many people here and beyond. I often refer to your post(s) whenever this subject arise, on and off line.

Good luck and thank you!

I downloaded the suggestions you made for B12, magnesium, zinc and D3 levels and took it to my doctor when I went to request a blood test. Although I was already taking supplements my levels were on the low end. I increased my doses and my levels are all now towards the top of the range you specified. I am sure I did make substantial improvements during that period but I made big dietary changes at the same time. So it is impossible to tell for sure what caused what. I tend to think of the two as complementary anyway. Naturally I woulds prefer not to stop the supplements just to see if I get worse.

I also liked the fact that I felt more in control as the numbers kind of reassured me. I also feel better knowing what my levels are and can monitor any changes should I have a recrudescence of symptoms.

The feeling of having some control is a good one for pwms I think. As we all know maintaining a positive attitude always helps but is sometimes very difficult to do.

So thanks a lot jimmy. I took your advice in the first place because you were very good at explaining what you thought the supplements did and providing links to appropriate references. You clearly have much more knowledge of the subject than my doctor does. Without having met you it seems very obvious to me that you are both a knowledgeable, caring and conscientious person. You sound just right for this kind of job.

thanks very much PN :)

AMcG, i really appreciate your detailed response. i too have made both dietary and supplement regimen changes, and i agree that they're both important.

the point is to get the numbers in the right place, however you get it done, and if you feel better at the end of the day, that's the point.

also, yes, the sense of control over one's own fate tends to be unusual for ms-ers; thanks for voicing that particular benefit of this approach - i agree 100%!

stay well all, and thanks again :D
