I'm starting to feel like we need an occupy the health ministers office or something to that effect. Canada needs a big protest by pwMS and their supporters.

I think they are being irresponsible not giving me my intrathecal methotrexate here in Canada. Really, for any degenerative incurable illness the medical community needs to be less rigid and prepared to take some risks if the patient is. They cite concerns for our safety-as if living with progressive MS and doing nothing is a safer alternative....

The medical community in Canada is a little backwards. I do agree with you that if you are prepared for the risk you should be able to receive the treatment. My brother-in-law was dying of cancer and his only hope was a risky surgery but the surgeon refused to perform it because he might die from the surgery. He was terminal. The Dr's use ethics as an out for many situations in this country.

It's at a snails pace, and we with MS don't have the luxury of waiting. They could do as the United States,, treatment and studies. GOD FORBID,, STEVEN HARPER. I COULD BE YOUR DAUGHTER. IF THAT WERE THE CASE YOU WOULD BE THE FIRST PERSON TO PAY AN AMERICAN DOCTOR TO HAVE YOUR OWN TREATED AND PAY FOR THE FOLLOW UP.

A group of us here in Ottawa (not sure how many) plan to be in the Gallery of the House of Commons tomorrow for the second reading of Kirsty Duncan's bill. We may not be allowed to heckle but we will be showing our support nonetheless.

My brother (Weston NDP) will be speaking tomorrow too. :-)

Not too late to write to MPs.
