I think no, to hit you, maybe.
In these cold days I think that my neck is kind of stiff, I feel pain when I turn it unexpectedly. I suppose it is from the cold and the contraction of the veins in cold, But that's just my interpretation.

It takes a few weeks for the stent to endothelize and become part of the vein. I would be cautious in the first few weeks.

I SO appreciate/understand your question, I recall post-op, staying overnight, a couple nurses came in to looky-loo, they were discussing the affair of these stents in the neck, one indeed did feel for the stents on my neck and commented (to the other nurse) on being able to feel it through the skin, just light fingertip pressure, but rest assured for the intervening weeks prior to the follow up MRV at 3 months, I did baby my neck area, out of an abundance of caution if not for any logical scientific reason. If it makes sense to you, and makes you feel more comfortable, by all means, break out the kid gloves.

I did as a matter of fact, ask the very same question you did to Dr. Dake, more along the lines of having kids, wrestling, so on so forth, what care should be taken to avoid outside interference, seat belts, all that. I cannot recall his exact response, but I got the sense that I needed to chill out a bit and not worry so much lol.

I did worry though, more like those nagging questions when you've done put stuff where stuff usually isn't. The mind is quite imaginative. In the end, I babied my neck area for 3 months, got my scan, and stopped even thinking about it much since. In fact just got through wrestling with the kids on the floor tonight, geeze they play for keeps too.

Great question, glad you asked it! :)

Mark.
