tumor after baloon angioplasty...

A friend of mine was detected CCSVI, followed by balloon angioplasty in November 2010 and few month later (in May 2011) doctor found a tumor of the thyroid gland. It was found by chance just because of jugular vein´s ultrasound. Unfortunately, it is a malignant tumor.
Could improvement of the blood flow in the jugular lead to the development of TG cancer? Anyone heard of such a link?

There's a connection between the jugulars and the thyroid: the veins that run through the thyroid make for good collaterals for blood flow that can't get through the blocked jugulars. Some blood flow that would have drained through the jugulars drains through the veins of the very vascular-rich thyroid that sits in the middle of the neck. This could lead to an unhealthy state in the thyroid, which would be relieved when CCSVI venoplasty is performed.
Another thing to think about is if the treatment for the thyroid cancer (radiation? surgery? chemo?) will damage the jugulars. Treating cancer of course matters most.

That was exactly my reasoning - whether improved jugular vein flow may have contributed to the fact that the tumor began to be better nourished and therefore had ideal conditions for growth. Do the patients after balloon angioplasty experience any problems with their thyroid?
