Thanks to all of the researchers for continuing to publish on the vascular connection to MS.
10 papers on MS/CCSVI
(My personal fav is the endothelial paper from LSU/UCSF)

Even with all the research that continues to be published on CCSVI and MS, my husband's neuro said to him at his recent
appointment that the interest in CCSVI is fading away. My husband had the procedure with Dr. Sclafani in April 2011 and his neuro has never asked him anything about it.

Maggie Mae---
For many years, MS specialists said vitamin D didn't matter, exercise didn't matter, nutrition didn't matter, smoking didn't matter....and now that dialogue has changed. It takes about a decade for research to go from journals to doctors' offices. The vascular connection to MS will probably take even longer. My husband's neuro just recently said his "venoplasty must have done something, or he is just really lucky" because he has a reversal of gray matter atrophy on MRI, and no MS progression. She also just told him she'd read about PML (something he'd brought up 2 years ago) and she's now decided not to recommend tysabri to her patients.....
Hope your husband is doing well, and maybe someday his neuro might ask him about his venoplasty :)

MM,

My neurologist last week explained that CCSVI was on its way out. I shall send him the Zavidinov and Hubbard publications. However, I believe that the issue of restenosis must be addressed before venoplasty for CCSVI becomes widely available. I hope that this is not too far off!

PN--
CCSVI Alliance has all of the publications-pro and con, just under 300 papers now--you can send your doc the link.
Venoplasty cannot become standardized if there are no clinical trials approved. The FDA IDE decision has slowed this process down, but the interest in the vascular connection (including perfusion, endothelial dysfunction, cerebrospinal fluid, and CCSVI) continues to grow.
here are the papers:

Thx Cheer, nice collection. There is a lot of meat on the CCSVI bone to be sure. Neuros are going to continue to stonewall and I expect that the procedure will not gain acceptance in my country Canada until we can greatly improve our batting average in the vein game. We're running out of early adopters!

I think the 'general' neuro's, the ones we meet, are kept away from ccsvi by the higher neuro's in the monkey tree.
My neuro also says that he doesn't hear from ccsvi anymore, huh??

I see an accumulation in ccsvi research and trials and vascular correlation to neuro-degenerative diseases...

It's weird....but in the end it will be accepted...

From the comments our neuro has made to us about CCSVI, I couldn't agree more. Wish he would just read the research and think for himself.

Most of the published articles I have seen are in vascular journals. I think when more articles are published by neuros, in respected neurological publications, the neuros will read the articles.

I wonder how mainstream a neuro journal this is?

here are its rankings, based on citations in other publications. kinda middling....
Neurological Research
2011 Journal Citation Reports®
(Thomson Reuters, 2011)
2-year Impact Factor: 1.522
5-year Impact Factor: 1.649
Ranks:
• 130/191 Clinical Neurology
• 197/243 Neurosciences
The important thing is that it's a neurological journal, not vascular. And it featured articles by several neurologists and neurological imaging specialists, not only vascular docs.
