we pretty much know chemicals and the debris we all are exposed to with pretty much nowhere to run and nowhere to hide. thanks to greed and what they call progress.

i'm sure there are many more chemicals and metals that are more vicious we have never been made aware of.

The soldiers in Iraq who came down with MS could be influenced by chemical exposure. Also the increase in MS in people in Kuwait in the last two decades?

It is tragic, Blossom--
we know that particulates from diesel fuel, pesticides, mercury and cadmium and other toxins break down the lining of our blood vessels.
Endothelial dysfunction, hypercoagulation and neurodegenerative disease is being studied in Gulf War vets, Cece.

Depending on your genetics, endothelial dysfunction from environmental toxins can create cardiovascular disease or neurodegenerative disease or cancer. Looking at blood biomarkers (for inflammation, C reative protein and hypercoagulation) is one way to monitor endothelial dysfunction. And making lifestyle and diet changes can help restore the endothelium.

cheerleader, here is more on the vets. when i first started seeking answers i ran into veterans being told they had ms that were fine before duty. "it was very sad and troubling." i know the vascular is important whether damage to the lining or hindered blood and csf flow because of spinal issues. but, added to all that the exposure to all the chemicals whether food, the air we breath, the water we drink on and on. even the chemicals these vets were exposed to in probably higher doses than the average joe directly attack the nervous system. even organic has rain that is contaminated etc. but all we can do is what each of us can do under the circumstances of an on going more and more polluted world. the old saying "what goes on in vegas stays in vegas" unfortunatly does not apply to the world we live in. there is a trickle down effect everytime chemical pollution happens anywhere. some just get hit faster and harder.

i wonder the trickle down effect the vets off spring will have. my brother was in vietnam exposed to agent orange and who knows what. so far he's ok BUT his first son born had some abnormal growths removed at a very young age and developed rheumatoird artheritis at a very young age. none of this is in the family otherwise.
