This post is to raise awareness about ICD-11, currently under development. The ICDs are documents made by the World Health Organization (United Nations) which are used by researchers, practicioners and insurance companies to classify and give a code to any known disease or disorder.
New version for ICD is 11, and it is currently under construction. A draft is available, with a lot of issues regarding MS. It is a wikipedia-like process and in theory, anybody can propose the inclusion of a disorder and its classification, though in fact, only organizations or internationally recognized profesionals are taken into account. The draft is here:

There are at least two problems with the current status of the ICD:

There are at least two problems with the current status of the ICD:
- First of all, CCSVI does not appear. Please CCSVI Alliance, help us all requesting officially the inclusion. (no need to mention the MS relationship in the request because some other connections like leukoaraiosis have been found: http://www.thisisms.com/forum/chronic-c ... 14138.html)
Second, It seems that they have separate MS from other white matter disorders like Leukoencephalopathies, and they have introduced a clinical definition of the disease, including things like CIS as a separate presentation, and ignoring pathological findings like Lucchinetti patterns.
