This is a very technical article but interesting. Its title is:
Somatostatin preserved blood brain barrier against cytokine induced alterations: Possible role in Multiple Sclerosis

The abstract can be summarized by its last sentence: "These data indicate that decreased levels of SST contribute to failure of the BBB in MS"
