On hand to accept the cheque was Christopher Alkenbrack, president of the National CCSVI Society. Alkenbrack says the money will come in handy for the Society in its continuing communication efforts. The Society is dedicated to bringing together patients and researchers to keep everyone up-to-date on the latest information regarding endovascular treatment, especially as it relates to the treatment of Multiple Sclerosis.

However, the Society is far from a one-issue group. It also looks at how blood flow issues affect a whole range of afflictions, from Alzheimer's and Parkinson's to Lyme disease and migraines; from chronic fatigue to irritable bowel.

"We are an all volunteer society," Alkenbrack says, "and this $5,000 will help us continue our mission. It will go toward such things as updating our website, creating information flyers and improving communications with doctors and patients on the latest research in this field."

I know Chris (current president) is Canadian. Met him a couple years ago, my wife knew him for years in NS.
