Welcome to the club, Mr. Bayne. I wish this were a diagnosis than no 22-year-old would ever have to get. Or anyone of any age.
I think he should get CCSVI treatment from an experienced provider asap.

Auto racing is dangerous . They often result in violent car crash's. Did this young man endure any such events prior to his diagnosis of MS ? Any history of any neck or back trauma ?

Four [ 4 %] to Six [ 6 %] percent of traumatic car accident victims go on to be diagnosed as having MS.

The National population average of having MS ..... is less than 1 %.

I doubt very much this fine young man's immune system is the source of his trouble.

Curious that his younger sister also has MS. I too thought the racecar crash/whiplash type
trauma may factor in til I heard about his sister. As a NASCAR fan
myself this was very disheartening news, Trevor is one of the rising stars.
However it is good to note that he has been cleared to race, NASCAR
wont allow anyone with limitations to race at 200 mph so he must have
either a very mild case, or symptoms that dont affect his performance on
the track. I wonder what the presenting symptom was?

And yes, Trevor has been in more than a few crashes. However, since the
death of Dale Earnhardt on track about twelve years ago, NASCAR required
Hahns devices for each driver, these are custom made pieces
that fit about the neck and shoulders, and strap the driver's helmet down to prevent
the severe type of head trauma as happened to Dale (his head basically moved forward
hard enough to dislocate from the spine).

The cars through the years have been beefed up to the point that drivers
routinely walk away from crashes that before would have landed them
in the hospital or worse. All that to say I would consider trauma
induced CCSVI a very remote possibility, esp. with the family history...

Or , in the alternative .... Trevor's sister may have a history of trauma injuries due to her exposure to risk taking . They may be a "need for speed " family ?

If Trevor has the guts to drive 200mph ..... who say's his sister can't/didn't take risks ?

This is where the medical professionals must document - any - trauma.

Had we reached the point where medical investigation for reduced bloodflow , was an accepted procedure.......

That is a grim story of D E. May he RIP.

Not sure, guess you'll have to ask her. Speculation is tiresome and never ending, so here's the facts as reported (there are hundreds of sources available via google).

Trevor first discovered some kind of weird rash on his arm which he attributed
to a bug bite following his stellar (youngest ever) win at the Daytona 500 back
in 2011. Attempting to rule out Lyme disease, and during subsequent
follow throughs, he had spinal tap, MRI's etc.

Lyme was ruled out. I believe a recent MRI indicated MS so he got the Dx.
He to this day is symptom free, so thats why he's cleared to race.
He is in excellent physical shape, eats right all that. Every NASCAR
team has personal trainers, many teams hire ex-athletes for
the pit crews. This is high dollar big corporate NASCAR, no pot bellies
on pit row I assure you.

All that to say no doubt he is in excellent shape and that certainly does
help with MS or CCSVI or whatever he has. His future at this point is
very bright. Not much more to say on it so this topic is closed for me.

An article from 2011 stated that his sister was 15 (in 2011). Pediatric MS...
Racing with CCSVI, if he has it, could mean being hunched in uncomfortable positions with a heavy helmet affecting blood flow. There would also be fumes with toxins. But yeah he is currently symptom-free. When he had symptoms 2 years ago, it was enough to sideline him from some races because of blurred vision etc.

let's all keep an open mind to ANY solution to a big problem . As is well established , MrSuccess has strong suspicions [ based on the Scientific and MATHEMATICAL results of medical professionals .... ] that TRAUMA to the head and/or back ..... pre-dates the diagnosis of MS ..... in about 5% ..... of people. That statistic cannot be ignored.

To repeat , the rate of MS in the population at large ... is LESS than 1 %.

I know what that information is telling me.

Anyway , follow the evidence or not. It's a free world.
