Ms. Fleming fought a legal battle for the right for euthanasia. She lost the battle but won the war (?) as she has passed away on her own.
Awful disease.

I have mixed feelings about this. I'm sorry to hear that another human being's life was destroyed by this hideous disease.
But I'm glad she was finally able to escape from it in the manner she wished for.

With regard to euthanasia, it seems to me that those of us whose lives are affected should be the ones who can decide if we want this or not. Instead some bureaucrats in government want to tell us we can't do it. Some of those bureaucrats are not even in control of their own lives, but they're certain they are qualified to control the lives of others. Makes me really angry. Having said that I wonder if hospice was an option for her. She was in pain and obviously she was dying. That should have qualified her. Hospice is not too bad a way to go. The drugs keep the pain under control until death comes.
