Okay-been thinking about this for a while. The body protects itself in so many ways. After a stroke, for example, blood pressure rises to feed the brain more oxygen. Docs not so long ago fought the higher BP, thinking it was bad, and actually caused less healing.
Is there anything that CCSVI could actually be protecting? I have thought and thought- came up with nada- thought I'd ask.

Good question Terry. I have been wondering about this too. One of the thoughts I had is this part of the fight or flight system that is not performing correctly. Since in this instance blood is diverted to the legs and arms for extra strength, endurance and could be part of the same system. Were not running from lions much these days, but the daily stress of our modern society puts our body in a similar mode. Cheers, Mark

Sometimes the body just messes up, though. As Marie says, think about crooked teeth, or spina bifida, or chiari malformation (where the opening for the brainstem is too small.) There are all sorts of things that can go wrong in utero. And having a compromised venous return or a venous malformation is congenital. We ain't perfect, but we're built to heal. Many congenital conditions can be helped by surgery and modern medicine...braces for the teeth, stents for the veins.
