Hello Everyone :)
I had a wonderful conversation with Alex yesterday. We bonded over our mutal roots in the East Bay! I'll overnight my stuff today so that it can be on Dr. Dake's desk on Thursday morning when he is in. Then I wait for his call. My insurance is fine, whew!!! I prompted Alex to save a spot for me in mid-December. They are booked that far already! What a great Christmas present to myself! I was tempted to ramble on and on, but kept my history brief and detailed. I read a few posts to see how other's had prepared, so thank you to all who "helped". I will post mine when I have a confirmed appointment. (don't want to jinx it!) I've got all fingers and toes crossed!!!!

Thanks so much Mark :)
I have a few questions. How will the call with Dr. Dake proceed? Will he do most of the talking? And, I'm wondering who each of you brought with you to Stanford?
Let the waiting begin........................

Does the MRI cd help you, or do you need an MRV?

No need for MRV. They only need a prior MRI and your health history.

YAY, Rhonda!! I am soo happy for you! :D :D

Maybe I'll get Dake's call this week and we may be out there at the same time...if so, I can send you my cell phone number and send me yours, if you want...I'd love to be able to be there and cheer you on!

so, what was your call with Dake like? I know this probably sounds silly, but maybe you know what i am going through waiting for my 'presidential call'

What kind of stuff did he ask you? I can't wait to hear all about it!!

I am so glad you are going to get to go be another 'guinea pig', too!! This is truly a miracle medical breakthrough...and we get to be a part of it and get 'fixed' too!!

Thanks for the cheer! I will keep posting my progress.
Lisa, I'm sure you will get your call soon:) I would love to exchange info and hopefully we can meet!
He only asked a few basic questions, and then answered a few of mine. We discused my symptoms. We talked about the progress he has made with the procedure. I explained my feelings about CCSVI. We briefly discussed my neuro (who has a packet of info on CCSVI, but had his nurse call to tell me he couldn't support it). I felt Dr. Dake's frustration, (not sure if that is the right way to describe it?) with the neurologic community. He mentioned being told not to get "our" hopes up.
Wow............ to me that says volumes about neuros, drug companies, and MS.
I explained that if there is a part of my anatomy which is compromised or not working right, I want it fixed.
Mark, I am sure I'll have plenty of questions before I go, lol! I am excited to join the club!!!
Have a wonderful day everyone :) I know I will :):):):)

PS: I have been skipping my copaxone shots a lot, and now I think I'm done.

Rhonda,

Last night must have been a call night for Dr. Dake. We also got our call. I just knew you got your call too.

Remember we started talking to Alex back in August. Dr. Dake said she would be calling us. He also asked my husband some health questions, like "did you ever have Mono or chicken pox?" Funny, my husband, his sister, and a neighbor who used to baby sit them all had the chicken pox at the same time. They also all have M.S.

We now wait to talk to Alex and see what our insurance will cover. My husband seemed so happy this morning. I'm a little on edge worrying about the stents. He is hoping for some relief.
