Whats the cheapest airport to fly in to, how long should I plan on staying, should I rent a car, and how about a hotel? I think I read somewhere that the Sheraton (with the Staford rate) was the best hotel to stay at.
My wife will probably be coming with me. She has a week off work in February, I'm thinking of trying to schedule then. I think too much though, it keeps going through my head, "go asap, no, wait till feb for my wife and he will have more experience, oh no, if i wait till Feb he might not be doing them because of a study or something, oh shite, I'm confused!".
I also do need to see how much it will cost. I do have good BC/BS insurance, but who knows.

Cheer,
Thanks I saw somebody bumped that today.
You were the only one who talked about taxi's -
If I did fly to SanFran would a taxi then be super expensive?
Also, it seems to make sense to stay at least one overnite after surgery, would 2 actually be better?
Thanks

I flew into SFO and took the Caltrain down to Palo Alto. It's really easy and inexpensive. A taxi would be a lot.
In addition to the night in the hospital, I stayed two nights after the surgery. I had a really easy recovery, and probably could have made the trip back sooner, but it was nice not to feel pressured.
