Alex told me this too! She looked as pleased about it as we are. Yeah!

So, one can say that Alex indisputably (also) benefits from stenosis intervention

This is another great news. The single steps are little - but they're many and fast.

How cool is Alex's job?! She gets paid for helping people who are truly very grateful for her help! They always want to hear from her...people bake her cookies...She gets to help people who ranged from 'sick of being sick & tired' to 'desperately ill' and watch them get better, get stronger, be happier, have hope! She gets to be in on the very beginning of what will be a major breakthrough medical miracle...AND, she gets paid for this!

No respond from Dr Dake clinic

I'm new patient and like to make an appointment with Dr Dake.
I left message for Alex two weeks back and twice left message for Darcy last week, so far haven't heard back.
Have you experienced such? shall I keep calling or this is common wait time to hear back from them?

Thanks

My initial email to Alex, asking for an appt with Dake, took almost a month, then It took Alex about 2 weeks to get back to me to schedule an appt, after I had my consultation over the phone with Dake...but she was only part time then, now, I understand she is going full time as of next week, so you should be hearing from her soon, I would imagine.

good luck!

They'll getcha, no doubt about it! When us first 20-30 got scheduled it was more of a trickle coming in, just since then, all the way back in August, it's multiplied big time. Factor in the holidays and such, you're probably looking at January+ anyways. Getting into the OR/finding a slot for the procedure is the easiest part, mostly it's the MRI scheduling and getting the insurance settled out which is complicated, and also Dr. D's schedule which may find him going hither and yon on different missions. So far Alex hasn't forgotten anyone yet, she conducts quite an orchestra over there and doesn't miss much. Darcy is new to the game there but is getting up to speed quickly. Now that Alex is full time, wow how great is that! She was stretched thin between Dr. D's office, and the Cath Lab. She really wanted to be doing this full time for us and voila! So we are all excited for her to be in one spot, and for future patients to get her full and undivided attention. You are watching a work in progress, the whole system has come a LONG way from merely a few months ago! You're in good hands.

Mark.

I sent everything out to Stanford in the middle of September and Dr. Dake called about two weeks later (beginning of October). He said that Alex would be in touch soon and I haven't heard anything since. I have sent a couple of emails just checking in, but I haven't gotten a response. I am assuming that they are just swamped.

sawdoggie - Same exact thing here. I have gotten all of my information over to her though, and my docs office here has heard from her, so I'm confident that she's working on me. My HMO is a real bear to get through though. I hope she updates me soon about what progress she is/is not making! Yay for full time!

Beth - You're there now, right? Have you had your scanns done yet? Did they show stenosis? Can't wait to get an update! Wish I was there!

Oh, my gosh -- can we count the ways it has changed. The difference between by text reports from my procedure in June, to the text reports for my daughter's procedure in September are like night and day. With each patient, the Dake team has learned something new - this will continue to be a work in progress for a long time.

Be patient everyone -- your number will come up.

Sharon

I'm trying not to worry

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one....I sent my stuff to Stanford in September Dr. Dake called and talked to me 3 weeks ago. I've sent an email last week wondering if I got lost? Now I called the office today and the message box is full. I'm hoping I'm still on the list and not lost. I must be patient!

We have been on this long journey since June. First we started with getting the testing at our local hospital. After a failed attempt the testing was done, but incorrectly. So then I started contacting Dr. Dake's office in August. Talked to Alex a few times and Dr. Dake at the end of September. We are still waiting. Alex was dealing with our insurance. You are not alone.

I spoke to Alex today to schedule my follow-up appt. She starts FT next week. She is so swamped and can't wait to be able to work on our stuff. I assume everyone who is waiting will hear from her soon :)
