Outstanding!!!

Just had a phone call from a lady in Canada telling me to watch this, so looked it up and found you guys already on to it

Ok Excuse my thickness:) If it is on at 7pm EST on the 21st does that mean it will be 12am UK time (12.00am on the 22nd)?????

I think that's correct, it usually is 5 hours later in the UK than in eastern Canada.

Weird. They took down that preview, now it's at:

Original short description on the site: "Is a cure for Multiple Sclerosis on the horizon? W5 investigates."

Now it's "A radical new method for diagnosing and treating MS involving blocked veins in the neck and upper chest, may prove revolutionary."

"MS is an autoimmune disease ..."

Grrr.

I just watched it and was surprised they called it autoimmune. I wonder if someone big saw the preview and threatened them - like an advertiser cancelling their contract.

I noticed that the person making these snippets may not have talked with the producers of the documentary about the correctness of her text. It is mentioned that the patient had blockage in "5 veins", but it seems it's only in his two jugular veins.

Concerning "auto-immune" or not, the first snippet also said that MS is auto-immune, but went on to ask that it had not been known what causes the auto-immunity, as introduction to Zamboni's theory.

The first preview is still there, it's played directly after the new one. The copy to this first version now is:

"It's being called a breakthrough in the fight against Multiple Sclerosis. Now a new study at the University of Buffalo is looking into a possible cure for the disease. CTV's medical correspondent Avis Favaro weighs in on the study."

Perhaps they're just TV guys. The new preview and copy is much more "striking" than the first one.

If the documentary has the same tone as some of the bits we've seen in the original preview, this is certainly going to have some impact, with millions of Canadians (most of whom know a person with MS) watching.

Just two corrections for the CTV crew on the text of the snippets, in case they're reading this: 1) the patient Kevin has 5 occlusions in his TWO jugulars, not occlusions in five different veins. 2) Zamboni has found that ALL MS patients have the problem, not "some" as the preview alleges.

Good work, Radeck! How incredible is it that our internet posts are able to travel at lightening speed? I love the fact that Avis was encouraging folks to call their MS societies and ask for further research! This is grassroots stuff unfolding in front of our eyes (and screens). We'll be on the road tomorrow, no internet. Should be interesting to check in tomorrow night. wow.

I saw the latest news preview, I guess, and it seemed good. Although, I also heard the 5 vein thing. I preferred this preview to the first, as it acknowledges that doctors don't know much about it yet, but they are just saying "no" right off the bat. They need an upward thrust to their posteriors.
