Here's the deal...if you don't have insurance and pay the "list" price, yes, it's about 80,000. BUT, Stanford doesn't really charge that- certainly not to insurance companies. Our insurance paid around 30,000 and our portion was 1,500. It depends on your insurance policy. Stanford also has financial assistance available. I have a feeling the 80,000 number was to scare people away, since things have been getting busy there- and Stanford wants to keep a lid on all this.
