overhead exercise unbearable

I always hated doing the Military Press (like a bench press, but sitting or standing upright and pushing straight up) - or any similar "overhead" effort, like, say, changing a lightbulb.

But almost a year ago, when I was still undiagnosed, but in what I now understand was the relapse which precipitated my diagnosis, I was doing a MP and I almost fainted. I don't think I felt all right (relatively speaking) for two or three days.

Now I think - wouldn’t that particular exercise have put a lot of pressure on the jugulars?

Anybody else notice this? Anybody know if my anatomy is right or wrong?

Hi,
I have the same problem. I am too scared to try it now. I have notice brushing my long hair is not such a problem as before.
When I do my hair I have to have sometimes hands up longer. I just have noticed it not such a problem anymore.
I am still scared to look up. I thought it was because of my lesions in c-spine.
I think it was /is both. I wanted to faint often.

Thanks Erika. I cannot look up either, for the last 6 months. My poor tomatoes suffered because of that, and my kitchen ceiling needs to be painted in the worst way. It took me ten days to prime-coat my bathroom, and I hope to finish it this coming summer.

I hope we can all look up soon!

Yes when CCSVI came up I thought of this. I would get the worst headache doing something like laying under my car trying to fix something.

I couldn't dream of painting. I am not able to lift my arm at all. This is not structural but it now makes sense it is in the veins. Kind of a burning weakening. Hope that makes sense.

When we bought the house we live in now I painted the ceilings in 5 rooms, still one left. 4 of the room have 10 ft ceilings. Looking back, I don't know how I managed it. This was 2 1/2 years ago and my MS got much worse. That's why the other room never got done.
