I went to my nero yesterday, and asked him about CCSVI. He didnt know much about it but after telling him some background he thought it was ok to go ahead and do a doppler of my neck.

I have 2 kinds of dopplers for next week, a venus one and a corroded one (not sure about that one.) Anyways, I want this test to count, my nero said to bring the papers to them when I go, but I want to make sure I have the right papers, so that they just dont do it and tell me, "Your fine, go home."

Any help offered would be wonderful! Thank you!

I don't recall where I downloaded this paper from so I have made it available. It's from Dr. Simka and covers the doppler technique used in examining MS patient's cerebrospinal veins.

Simka's doppler paper

In addition, the paper by Dr. Zamboni should be helpful.

Doppler Haemodynamics of Cerebral Venous Return

Lastly, the site linked below from Dr. Shelling has some mpg movies of a normal doppler and an ms doppler. I'm not a doctor so I can't interpret these images, but there appears to be more turbulence in the ms patient doppler.

Normal: http://www.ms-info.net/ICV_normal_subject.mpg

MS: http://www.ms-info.net/ICV_in_MS.mpg

Note that it would probably be best to give this info to your doctors at least a few days in advance of your examination.

I hope that this helps.

Dr. Haacke should have this available on his website.

At least he used to have it available (I couldn't find it just now). Perhaps you can contact him at info.mrimaging@gmail.com
