Just curious as to how CCSVI fits in with spinal lesions, as I haven't read anything documenting the link between them. Also has anyone here with only spinal lesions been diagnosed or treated for CCSVI? Thanks.

I have more lesions in my spine than my brain. We ruled out Devic's and are now calling it Tranverse Myelitis - it is more of a hodge podge of tiny lesions rather than just a few larger ones in my case.

When I aked my nuero about CCSVI and my situation, she indicated that there is "no possible way to reconstruct the aberrant venous system that seems to be typical of patients with spinal primary progressive MS".

Does anyone know if this is true or why? What test or scan is done on the spine to diagnose CCSVI?

I have an appointment with her this Friday and will discuss this more.

I would still like to be tested for CCSVI regardless as I do have some brain lesions.

I'll update you if I learn anything new from her!

i have no brain lesions. i have two very tiny cervical lesions. i apparently have had optic neuritis, as my VEP shows a delay.

my lesion load is very small, yet i am in a chair. i have not been tested for ccsvi yet.

I have a lot of regions in brain and a few in my spinal cord. Unfortunately the veins are so small in the spine, I don't think anything could be done there.
I just think maybe blood thinners, like children Aspirin or something like that may help, don't quote me on that but who knows?

The Azygos vein drains the spinal area. The Azygos is not easily determined on the MRI/MRI scans. Mine was found with Venography during the procedure.
It was the last venous abnormality located and repaired.
there are veins that are designed (by our bodies) to serve/drain all areas.
I hope this helps. So, no the Jugulars are not draining all parts and there are other veins that do and those veins are known to the vascular experts and they will be looking for those problems.
