Hello I am in southern new jersey. I just had doppler ultrasound at a vascular docs showing stenosis of jugular vein. I also just had mrv done via protocol. I am now trying to decide which surgeon to have do the treatment angioplast and or stent on veins.Does anyone have any excellent suggestions. I would perfer to have it locally or at one of univ docs in philadelphia.I have my diagnosis the insurance will cover surgery. I now want an excellent open minded surgeon. Barbara

My sister in law lives in New Jersey, has had so-called MS since 1992 and is in a wheelchair full time (for the past 6 years). Where did you get your Doppler Diagnosis and from whom?

sorry, I don't have info on a surgeon,
but would be interested to know what contrast was used--I'd like to get the testing done, but fear the contrast.
Thanks

Gandolium i think was contrast and yes i feel crappy thereafter. I was supposed to have all mrv at same time at atlantic magnaetic imaging but since insurance only pays for 1 a day they split it up and I got wacked with contrast twicwe. First time half my face got numb a couple hours later. Great poison yourself more to get tests proof so you can get help. Oh well tracking down Penn docs for surgery. Barbara taking lots of NAC

I had a MRV and it showed no narrowing in my viens. Would doppler ultrasound possibly show something different?

supposedly dopler was how Zamboni diagnosed all the stenosis. I think that if they don't know how to read a a mrv exactlyy you can't always read it correctly. Bring exact protocol with you on doppler and get it done it is not invasive. barbara
