Researchers in Australia found more evidence that MS is not an autoimmune disease. A good study reported at this site. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/2003 ... inalpos=30
Basically concludes "The findings suggest that plaque formation has some basis other than destructive cell-mediated immunity directed against a myelin or oligodendrocyte antigen."
You may recall that researchers down under had earlier found evidence as to the same fact. (See the number 2 most read article under "Top Ten" in this web site)
This really should start Neurologists looking in different directions, and CCSVI is a different direction. Also, tose of us with PPMS knew all along that autoimmunity was not the right answer since the immunosuppressants did nothing about progression, even if they suppressed exacerbations.
