Stents and re-stenosis?

There was some thoughts in Finnish forum about re-stenosis with stents? In Zamboni's trial with liberation procedure (balloon) there was about 47 % restenosis in 18 months. What about with stents? Is there any data so far about restenosis? And if restenosis happen with stent.. what happens then?

I red about coronary artery / stents.. that there is about 25 % restenosis in 3-6 months. My guess is that in jugulars the restenosis % is much smaller. What do you think?

I repeat my question:

How big is the risk of restenosis with stents? Anyone has info/knowledge? And if there is restenosis in stent location.. how is it fixed?

Hi Ernst,
well I do not have any official data. As far as I know, it is impposible to have re-stenosis in the same place where the stent is. There are only few patients they had re-stenosis in another place than the stent. E.g. my blood flow in that jugular is still not as strong as in the healthy jugular.
I do not even thing there are some oficial data already.
I am sorry but I do not know more.

Thanks Erika. This stent and safety is very important thing. Im confident that M.Dake and M.Simka really know what they are doing. But it would be nice to read some scientific data, if there is something to read.. or maybe there isn't any cause this is still something very new.
