Wishing you all the best of the best, HappyPoet.

At least when your doctor goes in for the second procedure, you'll know very quickly and with gold-standard accuracy if you've restenosed or not. There is an advantage to that!

While this is great news, I am confused. You have to go back for another ballooing? Why wasn't it done in one session ?
... and please let us know why "there is nothing to report" ?
I'm wishing you a lot of improvements.
:)
Vivianne,

Dr. Mehta only does unilateral venoplasty -- he only does one jugular at a time for safety reasons (plus, my pain management doctor insisted upon it). Since I live in Albany, I don't mind if there is more time between my appointments for the sake of those on tight schedules who travel to Albany from faraway places. I don't have the expenses or hassles of travel, either, so being fit into the office schedule at the convenience of the travelers' schedules is fine with me.

Cece,

Just to clarify for HP, it is not really a 2nd procedure for a re-stenosis. It is Part 2 for her initial procedure. Hope the above quote helps.

Cece!
Love that gold-standard accuracy. :)

Before P2 starts, I'll ask, even beg if I must, for him to recheck my R-IJV for restenosis. I also want a recheck of my azygos vein because of my T5-T9 cord lesion.

All my thanks,
~Pam

Hi Deb,

Cece knows I'm going in for P2 of my initial procedure. Her soft reminder is so I won't forget to ask because she knows how poor my memory is!

Thanks for caring, Deb :D

Clarification is always good. I could've been more clear in my post. :)

I thought it would almost be an automatic that the doctor would want to double-check his previous work and how it's holding up, as long as he's in there again? Honestly as patients the more time we can get them to spend in our veins, the better. I am sure there is an upper limit to that motto but it also encompasses Dr. Sclafani's use of the ivus; the longer they're in there, the harder they're looking, the more they'll find.

Hey there Vivianne,
No, I don't know how many he's done, but I think I was #20 (though this number could have come from a dream).
Yes, the blood flows in the azygos vein looked fine up and down its entire length.
Sorry, I'm not sure what you mean by "this scale thing."

Cece,

I agree. Automatic. I do know I have absolutely nothing to worry about because Dr. Mehta is the complete professional, as I've been lucky enough to witness first hand.

My posts show my bouts of MS-caused paranoia quite well <sigh>. My apologies to everyone.

Hi to all, I, too, am anxious about how the check up goes....I was treated in July and have to go back up in October for a check....hopefully he'll do a Doppler or ??? to see if restenosis had happened. I kind of think it might have- some initial improvements, then back to the same old nonsense-
Let's keep one another informed about this "stuff"
Keep the faith..........................................................................................
This is just the beginning!!!!!!!
