spinal tap didn't have any of the demyelinated tissues patients with ms usually have.

but the neurologist insists it is ms. maybe it's because he's one of the top ms researchers in the country

My spinal tap didn't show any bands either, however my MRI read like yours.

With that being said, you can and should get a second opinion. Make sure you get all your films on CD/DVD and your printed results on everything for your consult.

Do you have any MRI's from the past, no matter how long ago you can get on CD/DVD? That would be helpful as well.

RE: Lyme disease, did you get bit by a tick and get the red ring rash and flu like symptoms?

I would get a second opinion.
