My first insulin test was 12 UU/ML; I drastically changed my diet, but the next insulin test was still 9 UU/ML. (Optimal is 3 or lower.) I was eating a "healthy diet" but I included whole-wheat products occasionally, thinking complex carbohydrates were good for me. My insulin test results were still never below 9 UU/ML.

Now, after reading Wheat Belly by Dr. William Davis, I have eliminated all wheat/gluten from my diet about two weeks ago. I have been slow to schedule my next blood tests – looks like it will be October. I am curious to see the next insulin test results.

It is not "conventional wisdom," but I do think excess insulin in my bloodstream has caused my MS symptoms. Insulin is like "lye in the pipes."
