Progressive?

I had burning ankles last year for about a month, went to the neuro and he said not MS, did no testing, and said not to worry about it. Symptoms went away. This year, the burning came back in august and has been here ever since. If it was actually MS, would this be considered a progressive MS. Is that how it happens. I had a brain MRI 2 weeks, w/wo contrast and MS protocol. Is was negative. This morning I had a cervical MRI. Will have results on Monday. I'm 58 and kind of worried about these painful burning ankles and legs. Any thoughts?
