Having strange symptoms all of a sudden! Scared

Hi there I'm 52 y/o woman from US. I been experiencing some pretty strange things going on in my body the last few days and was hoping for some feedback.
The first this i noticed was a vibrating in my pelvis, as if my cell phone was in my back pocket. This was constant with 2 second intervals. It lasted 48 hours. Has been gone for 2 days.
Today at work I had black floating dots in my vision, it only happened twice.
Since I got home i have had twitching in my eyelid.
I also felt a strange stabbing electrical shock feeling in my left foot, and since then my foot is tingling.

A few months back around Christmas time I had a bout of confusion that was so unlike me, it went on for days. I just thought it was cause by the stress of the holidays.

All of this is so sudden, I am scared, and just wondering if I could get some feedback.

Thanks

yep if you think there could be a link where magnesium nutrition is concerned, you can start with assessing your diet for typical magnesium intake, and then sorting out a plan targeting intakes of 600mg magnesium daily.

mgs of magnesium per serving size for selected healthy foods:

you also have to be careful to avoid foods/drinks that compete or interfere with magnesium. but the assessment piece is a good first step.

no probs, and good luck with the doc! ask for a serum magnesium test, see if they'll go for it. keeping in mind the study calling for a warning on 'normal' results. for the time being, that just means you need to get your particular result for your own records and work from there.a

Welcome to ThisIsMS, dawn.

Since you posted as "Undiagnosed," and asked for feedback, I offer my thoughts to you.

The tingling in your foot is called "peripheral neuropathy." The following link outlines the investigation suggested by the University of Chicago for peripheral neuropathy:

Blood tests

Blood tests are commonly employed to check for vitamin deficiencies, toxic elements and evidence of an abnormal immune response.

Depending on your individual situation, your doctor may request certain laboratory tests to identify potentially treatable causes for neuropathy. These include tests for:
Vitamin B12 and folate levels (Magnesium, Iron, Zinc, & Copper per jimmylegs and http://www.businessinsider.com/whats-wr ... rts-2014-2)
Thyroid, liver and kidney functions (especially thyroid hormones testing is recommended by Kathryn Simpkins in her book, The MS Solution)
Vasculitis evaluation
Oral glucose tolerance test (In addition, I suggest a separate "fasting blood insulin test".)
Antibodies to nerve components (e.g., anti-MAG antibody)
Antibodies related to celiac disease (Gluten sensitivity can cause neurological symptoms even if it is not to the extreme degree of celiac disease.)
Lyme disease
HIV/AIDS
Hepatitis C and B
Your GP can order many of these tests and start your investigation. All the best to you. We are here if you have questions; we are good listeners if you just need to talk. Please let us know how it goes.
