Neels Pharmacy http://bit.ly/1N4QP8n
located in Saint Louis, MO will make a custom compound 300mg tablet of Biotin with a prescription from your doctor. For a 90 day supply, the price is $525.00. That is far less expensive than going to a vitamin store and choking down 30 tablets/day to get the high dosage needed used in the clinical trial.

I think any compounding pharmacy in the US can do the same, and a local one won't charge you for shipping. I get a month's supply from my local compounding pharmacy for roughly $180 for 30-day supply. I get these in 100-mg caps, so I can take a dose 3 times daily, spread out every 8 hrs instead of 300-mg all-at-once. I'd think adsorption is better when taking 300-mg biotin spaced out during the day, instead of taking a megadose all-at-once.

Pharmaceutical grade Biotin is a very fine powder, is tasteless, and easily mixes and mixes well with water, and is extremely easy to drink. And costs about $20 a month.

its the dividing accurately into 100mg doses that is the trick

I purchased a milligram scale for about $23 and was able to modify a small measuring spoon to the correct dosage I wanted (I take about 140mg twice a day).

Get the right micro scales, something to put the powder onto (you can tare this so it does not count in the weigh), and you can put the daily dose into a 500ml/20ounce bottle of water. Sip away at that all day, and you have a daily dose in a controlled release form.
It is easier than reloading handgun ammunition, and a lot more socially acceptable.
Additionally, you can sip away in public, no questions about what you are doing with that white powder stuff!

Hi Questor,
That's a good point.
But then, why will the MD1003 be 300mg all at once and not 3*100mg?

I believe there must be a reason...

I am nowadays taking 65mg of OTC biotine 3 times per day.
I feel much better, however, I can feel the effects of the 65mg decreasing roughly 3-4 hours after taking it.

Starting tomorrow, I will take 195mg (65*3) all at once for one week and I will see......

Cheers

I think it actually is/was 100mg x 3 times daily.

You're right!

From http://www.msard-journal.com/article/S2211-0348(15%2900006-1/pdf: (median=300 mg/day divided in three doses)"

Then I won't change the way I am doing it.

Thks!

Really? I would of thought it was a long term change.

Hopefully after taking it for several months, the changes will be long term. But, for me, after 3 months now, I notice a decrease in lower body strength and coordination if I stop taking it. So, I plan to stick with 100-mg 3xdaily indefinitely.

Yep, it's better to wait for several months before discussing about changes.

KevinCrane wrote:My moms Neurologist in Boston recently gave her a prescription for Biotin 100 mg three times a day.
Hi KevinCrane,

Did your moms Neuro advise exactly when she should take the biotine? I mean:after having food, before or during?

Thks

Sorry if I've missed this.........do you have to get a prescription for the Biotin from a neurologist or can you go to your GP?

Thanks!

No need for a prescription in England - just go ahead and order from one of the US suppliers.
I know that with Pure Bulk Ltd, if you try to order something that cannot be supplied to your country, their system will not let you complete the purchase
With Biotin, I think it would be classed as a Supplement, not a Drug.
