How are you doing on biotin?

I'm curious how people here are doing who've taken this into their own hands.

Any noticeable results you can attribute to high-dose biotin?

Where did you buy yours, what did it cost, how do you take it? (i.e. you load your own capsules, you dissolve it in water, etc.)

Thanks.

I have been taking Biotin in low dosage for about 2 years, and started on high dosage a few months ago, using Pharma grade Biotin from both Bulk Supplements and Pure Bulk. I just mix the powder with water. I have not noticed any changes of any kind that I can attribute to the Biotin.

High dose Biotin for about 5 months, dissolved in water.
Small improvements that are not likely to be due to anything else.
Starting point was EDSS 6.5

Hi

I'm doing pretty good. Well, at least better than few months ago.

I'm just posting cause I noticed something with the biotin from Pure Bulk (this doesn't mean it would be the same for everyone):
I used to take 300 mg/day, 1cap after breakfast , 1 after lunch and one after dinner.

After thinking about what my neuro told me (biotin from the net is less powerful than cerenday), I decided to take 400 mg/day.
So, I am taking now 1 cap after breakfast, 1 after lunch, 1 near 5 pm and 1 after dinner.

I can see the changes.
I feel better.

Pure bulk. around 6 months with no changes I can assign to Biotin. I would say some symptoms continue to worsen at their normal rate.

6 months may be too short to get benefits from biotin.

According to Medday study, it can take more than 8 months before seeing any change.

I would advice you to continue.

By the way, I ve been taking biotin since 10 months...

I don't plan on stopping. I purchased a 100g pouch, so almost a years worth. I estimated the 6 months. I checked my email, and I ordered it 27 May 2015, so I am probably close to the 8 months. So, any day now...

As for their study, I am very dubious of their initial results.

Bump

Hi there,

I'm suffering from SP MS.
I've been taking biotin from Medday (the name is not Cerenday anymore, it's Qizenday) for 4 months.

Results are pretty good:
-No more pain behind my right eye
-Difficulties to speak disappeared
-Tiredness vanished

My main issue months ago was the constant tiredness.
Now, it's my light walking issue.
I hope this problem will improve soon .

4 months seem too short to expect anything from the "Qizenday", but I was on Pure Bulk before.

Cheers

Hi,

While the topic is up again here, I'll give my $0.02 after about 13 mths on 2*150mg daily compounded capsules:

Slightly increased Leg stiffness, still noticeable throughout the day but maneageable - reduces with Mg & Stretching. The Bladder & Energy improvements are so uplifting that I can't think of stopping anymore!

Example? This Summer was the first time in six years where I was finally able to hangout with colleagues for 1-2 beers after work to watch EURO Soccer matches without being worried of getting too exhausted or not finding a toilet in time. May sound like a detail but for someone with EDSS 5.5 it sometimes feels like rejoining life :-)

Hi Marc,

Glad to see biotin is working for you
Your post gives hope to many MSers!

Hopefully, you'll get some more improvements.
May I ask about your MS?
Are you PP or SP?

thks

SPMS: the first ten years or so I was RRMS. Since 2009 just a gradual decline..well no longer I guess.
As I've written, don't really care if it goes downhill again from here. At least that stuff gave me one last fun Summer.

Take care.
