I've been on rebif since april 30. I'm currently on the high dose 44. I'm handling the side effects pretty well, practically no flu like effects anymore. But it doesn't seem to be doing anything to the # of my attacks. I basically get an attack every 1 - 1.5 months. Most of them just give me numbness, with mild perm damage(fingers crossed that it stays that way). How long does Rebif take to work?, my neuro wants to give it until the end of summer. Then a mri to see if I have new lesions or not.

seems like a reasonable course of action to wait a few months to see. in addition to the repeat mri, you might get your blood tested for neutralizing antibodies, which can develop anywhere from 6-18 months after being on an interferon.

good luck--hopefully the tide will turn for you.

I agree that waiting is appropriate. In the Rebif trial, effect on MRI was seen quickly (at 2 months) but you may need to wait a little longer for effect on relapses. How long have you had MS? Have you ever been on any other treatment? Unfortunately some people wait to long to get on a high dose interferon.
