Warrior diet anyone?

Yesterday I started Crossfit and we talked with the trainer about diets and he is an old friend of mine and know of my condition. He told me about cyclic eating/diets and from what I saw I liked Warriors Diet. It can be combined with Paleo I think and the trainer suggested that those diets help overcome certain sicknesses. Anyone ever heard anything about this diet and MS? It is very radical even compared to Swank, Paleo, etc....

Haven't specifically looked at the warrier diet, foods allowed etc., but I think it is basically Paleo with the addition of a 20/4 intermittant fasting protocol, that is a fasting period of 20 hours (including sleep) and a 4 hour eating window.
This is basically what I do,
It is important to include a large variety of foods in this eating window as this is the one and only meal time/day.
The other thing to consider is allowing your body plenty of time to adapt, so gradually making breakfast later and later, till it becomes lunch, then making lunch later and later till it becomes dinner.
There are many potential benefits which include improved glucose control which IMO is at the core of many chronic diseases, but the warning is to go slow, real slow, don't get ahead of yourself, many people go too fast feel great for a while then start going downhill, this is because their bodies have not fully adapted and the body has enacted a series of metabolic adjustments to deal with the food restriction and one of those may be downregulating thyroid function.
You should go in with the idea of nudgeing your body in the right direction, not enforcing a strict regimen, your body is in charge and if you push too hard it will counter move and sabotage your process, so keep it slow and comfortable.
I would suggest a minimum of three months, preferably closer to 12 months of eating better and drifting slowly to a 20/4 IF protocol.

Will start it after easter, no way I can do it now :). It is more like 18 hours of hunger, but haven't red the whole book. Now with just a bit of nuts I don't have a problem to get up to lunch time, so hunger will not be that big issue I think. Will see what foods are allowed, but I will try to do it more like paleo. No to mention that from my miserable tries to start real paleo I don't get well with dairy and gluten anymore. Every time I eat something like that I get stomach problems and I just can't stop pizza and burgers :(.

My sugestion is get the diet established first, eat when hungry, try to stick to 2 or 3 meals only, but snack (healthy) if the urge is great, deprivation is not the way to do it.
Initially you may find you actually eat more, this is natural, over time you will find your snacking dropping of as your body adjusts, your views of what is food changes, you stop craving the bad stuff and overall you'll start to eat a bit less.
Then once you are settled into the diet side, the timing of meals will also start to shift, and you can go to the full warrier protocol.
The attitude must be to nurture your body and gently nudge it in the right direction.
Your head is in charge of your actions in the outside world,
On the inside though, your body is 100% in control, if you push too hard, your body simply changes the rules until it is ready to do what it needs to, so think healing rather than discipline.

Well, first day passed. Was not that bad, had a total of 60-80 grams of raw nuts and berries, one green salad and total of tree boiled eggs(Easter, eggs everywhere :D). Even had a crossfit workout in the evening and it was good :). For dinner some roasted chicken(a bit less than half of) with corn spaghetti. Didn't have any vegetables at home and came back too late from the workout, every shop was closed.
Will see how it goes the next days, main goal is to loose weight, 119kg at the moment :(.

Almost a week now, lost a bit more than 5kg. Training during that time and I feel good. Only problem is that I train late and I go to bed late. No problem with the lack of sleep, I'm just agitated and not that nice to other people :). And I remember that I had times when I could barely stay up after 10:00.... Hope it goes well, everyone thinks that I'm crazy not to eat during the day.

Hey I'm new to MS but not so new to dieting and exercise. In my opinion diets like the warrior diet are only good when combined with a large amount of exercise and even then the foods you mentioned (nuts, eggs in large quantities in particular) do not seem like the best choice for someone with MS. Losing weight is not a simple process, and rapid weight loss can do more harm than good. If you are looking to lose weight while also maintaining a healthy diet you might want to look for a program combining professional dietary help with some form of exercise. I remember reading about a rehab/diet program specifically for MS patients. If you want I can look it up for you.
