On the best Bet Diet, I see that you can make rice milk, ect... But can you actually eat the rice?

Why would you want to make it? buy some:)

I think if you ate the rice in the rice milk that would kinda be rice pudding:)

Hey Bubba...
White rice is fine to eat on BB, since it doesn't contain gluten and is considered a grain. But brown rice is even better! Or maybe go wild....with your rice, that is :)

In that case, I think I can definately handle the BBD! I eat from the chinese rest alot at work. I usually have the same thing all the time, and that is brocolli and chicken with white rice. That solves my eating out problem! Thanks!

Bubba brings up a question I've had. Does anyone know if the way Chinese food is prepared (sauces, MSG, etc) would disqualify it from the Swank or BB diet?

Chinese food is good if the sauces don't have too much salt or sugar. Soy/edamame is considered a no no on BB, but on swank it's OK. My hubby eats lots of edamame and soy sauce- because we know he's not allergic. If soy's not an issue for you, go for it. But get the low salt version.

Most good chinese restaurants have eliminated MSG...but when in doubt, just ask them to leave it out. I do a stir fry at home with olive oil (olive oil's not good at really high temps, so I don't cook too hot) pea pods, chicken, fresh ginger and a splash of soy. Good on wild rice. It's a bit different than the usual Chinese food, but really tasty.

We eat 180 deg. differently than before my hubby's dx. Tonight was garlic/ pesto turkey burgers, red potatoes w/olive oil and fresh peas. Even my teenager likes to eat "Dad's food"...but it took a bit of time to adjust.
