Companies typically file patents prior to clinical research studies. It could be several years before it's commercially available if ever.

For comparison, consider the case of Kesimpta (ofatumumab). We first discussed it in 2008, but it only became an available treatment option this year in 2020. That's 12 years. There are many potential treatments that never make it through phase III clinical trials. Even some that do are of questionable benefit.
