Hi all

A Phase II Study of Atorvastatin (aka Lipitor) is now recruiting people across the US who have been diagnosed with Clinically Isolated Syndrome (CIS) and are at Risk for Multiple Sclerosis.

The definition of CIS, eligibility criteria and locations of centers recruiting people may be found here.

The study hypothesis states:
Quote:
Early intervention with atorvastatin in patients with CIS will result in a state of immunological tolerance.

The eventual findings should be interesting given the front page story.

Take care everyone.

I found out that one of the trials in taking place at Yale New Haven Hospital in CT which is near me so I sent the MS center there an email inquiring about the trial and the possibility of me taking part in it. Unfortunately, they emailed me back and replied with the following.."Thank you for the email. Unfortunately, I do not think you would qualify for the Atorvastatin clinical trial. The trial has very strict eligibility criteria. Participants have to be evaluated and randomized within 48 days of the initial symptoms suggestive of MS. Since your symptoms occurred in January 2004, you would not meet the inclusion criteria."

I tried. Thanks for the info.
