i have no rx insurance, so i'm keenly aware of drug costs. everyone needs to be concerned about the price of rx drugs in the usa. it affects all of us one way or another...keeps some people from medicines they need, raises ins. premiums for others. instead of ins. companies putting a cap on medical cost pay outs, maybe there needs to be a cap on what can be charged for rx drugs.

Jill, I agree they do need to cap the cost of scripts...I guess in some ways they might say they have since you can not get your scripts just anywhere, they have to have a contract with the pharmacy. I am waiting to see what January has in store for me, dh's work changed insurance yet again and the co-pay, pharmacy, etc changes too. I was rather spoiled on my Copaxone being delivered to the house every month, and that there was no copay.

I don't think I will have to worry about reaching a lifetime cap at this point, because the insurance choices for us changes every few years and we start again with a new provider. I have Medicare now too, but it is not my primary. Only thing I do not have to worry about as far as insurance is concerned is if my Dr is covered, because dh works at a hospital and the Drs are staff and we are encouraged to use them by a hospital supplied secondary plan that covers the copays if we stay w/in the hospital. With the ER copay going to 100.00 I am very happy for the secondary coverage, especially with to very active boys, lol.

I do feel for those w/o insurace or with high copays or exculsions. I know that paying for script copay is a big enough bill for us, I can not imagine having to pay even more out of pocket for visits or hospital stays. Something has got to give on all this to make sure people are gettting the care they deserve.
