Hi,
Does any one has some ideas about how much the Oral drugs I.e. FTY720 or Mylinax or BG12 etc would be priced if they are approved. Will they be priced in the same range as CARB?
This really depends on how much money it will cost the pharma companies to produce the drugs
The Crabs are injectable medications and tend to be much more difficult to produce, especially the interferons as the molecules are cultured in some form of biological media. (£££)
Oral drugs tend to be chemical stubstances rather than biologicals, productions of chemical entities is an easier process on the whole and therefore have greatly reduced costs.
So my personal feeling is that oral drugs are cheaper to produce, but who knows what kind of mark ups are added by the pharma companies
