Wanted to kick start this thread, since we have a new member, Ursula, who is in the Berlin trial and pretty sure she is getting the real EGCG deal.
I started Jeff on 600mg. of green tea extract, and he is doing quite well...has better energy throughout the afternoon, (his tough time)- and has quieter spams and better rest at night. Lots of new information on EGCG's affects on blood vessel integrity and thrombosis. Interested in this, since Jeff has "sticky blood" which has been contributing to fatigue and pain.
in the trial we get 800 mg.
I know, I shouldn´t recommend this high dose because people shouldn´t experiment too much on their own..but I think EGCG isn´t too dangerous although there can be problems with your liver (rare) it says in my papers.
If you buy the pills in the internet, they should contain as much EGCG as possible (my pills have 95%)
I have been taking it for 9 months (before that I drank tons of geen tea).
So for the last year I´ve had no relapses and no side effects.
The trial will last 15 months (at the moment)
Good luck! _________________ ursula

Ursula, thanks for sharing your experience with the forum, that's very good news!
Just had a look at several green tea extract products,EGCG concentration in most of them can be anything from 10% to 50%.
Looking for the high-concentration EGCG tablets Ursula mentions are used in the trial, i found a product called Teavigo sold on i-herb and another one from a company called Tayio, both with a 90% concentration.
Does anyone know if there is a perceived benefit in getting EGCG from high-concentration tablets rather than from the ones that are more widely available?

Jeff's still using EGCG supplements, taken with his lunch. We also added a quercetin supplement to the mix about two weeks ago. The combo of these 2 flavonoids together is quite potent. Jeff stopped taking his provigil, and claims his brain fog is gone. This is the best he's felt since before his first attack in '07. He went on a 25 mile mountain bike ride over the weekend. I'm actually astounded, and quite encouraged.
Here's some new research Gibbledygook found on the combo of EGCG and quercetin (which are also the main ingredients in Lance Armstong's new energy drink) The combo reduces endothelin-1, a vasoconstrictor, and helps improve blood vessel integrity.
