Hey Loo , have you ever heard of Rodney Carrington, surely. He was in Beaumont one night while we were there and some guy in the front started heckling him by saying what he was going to say first. Rodney stops and says look here fat boy I don't come to your job and tell you how to pick up the garbage so let me do mine. The guy just ducked his head and exited the bulding. That was worth the price of addmission, the whole crowd busted out laughing and throwing shit at him. Priceless.

hey arti, i actually thought you were taking it like this:
- 50mg zinc @ breakfast
- 50mg zinc @ dinner
- 500mg magnesium @ bedtime.

BUT you can probably still do okay with splitting your daily magnesium out into 250mg AM and 250mg PM, as you describe - so long as it's between meals and as long as it isn't giving you any mudbutt issues through the day Wink
it's supposed to be best of all to take it at bedtime, from what i understand...

my doc said to take 100mg zinc per day but you might not be as deficient as i was, so just taking a 50mg in the morning could be okay too.

see if you can get your doc to do a zinc test. helps to know where you're at, and when you can take a break. once your serum values for zinc are up around 15 nmol/l, you can ease off Smile

how's that did i make sense?

Yep perfect LOL
Yah I'll get em checked its just that my dr is an hour and half away so it will have to be on my next trip at the end of May. Hey do you have a general physician or a neuro or both? I don't really have a general dr I just have a nuero and uruo hahaha. Really, I had a gen dr but stopped visiting him after my dx. I seem to hardly ever get sick. Atleast with a cold or something like that. Caught the flu at the begining of my rituxan therapy but it only lasted about three days. I asked my nuero about how I was never sick and how my immune was so overactive so to speak, he really didn't have an explination for me. anyhow later homeskillet.

Peace be with you Very Happy

ow that is far. i have a gp and a neuro. i have to go for annual checkups with my GP even though i visit the neuro once a year too. my GP is the go to for all my bloodwork. the neuro refers to specialist if i need.

i dunno, what does rituxan do exactly? add brakes to your immune sys? if so maybe you never get colds because your immune sys only has attack mode. maybe with rituxan, it added brakes so hard at first that you had no defenses until your system adjusted a bit, enough to fight off the flu you'd picked up in the start of the therapy.

no idea really, i have never read up on rituxan. i only read about rebif a little in '06 because that's what they had me lined up to take.

Wow once a year to the neuro? man mine says every two months. Anyway from what I understand rituxan kills the b-cells in your immune system. ok the thought behind this is that when your body reproduces these cells it will produce cells that are better i guess. really you would think i would know more about it. stupid me oh well later

yep once a year, roughly. probably because i'm not on any of the drugs so they don't figure they have to watch me so closely for liver enzymes? i should probably check em regardless, from the supplements. even though i've been slack takin em lately. oh ya finally got some zinc today! so now i can practice what i preach again at last ;D

pssh this boat is fiiine nothin's gonna go wrong. not if you're only at 50mg or a day or even 100mg like yours truly is once again (finally!)

http://www.mostproject.org/ZINC/Zinc_Updates_Apr05/zinc%20low%20risk.pdf

Quote:
In extensive safety studies undertaken in laboratory animals, zinc has been shown not to be carcinogenic, mutagenic, or teratogenic.9 In addition, the human body has efficient homeostatic mechanisms that regulate the absorption and retention of zinc, which decreases the likelihood of toxic build up in the body.10 Adult zinc toxicity can occur from moderately high intakes of zinc (> 150mg/day — approximately 10 times the IZiNCG RDA) over a long period of time or from ingestion of >1 g of zinc (more than 60 times the IZiNCG RDA) by overdose via supplementation or intravenous feeding.11 Ingesting too much zinc at once can cause gastric distress and the typical signs and symptoms that are often associated with food poisoning.

100mg Zn at once gives me "gastric distress" (just queasy)

still get a test though! check the table in the general discussion thread 'boys girls ms zinc and copper' or some name like that i forget Smile

g'nite
