I have an italian translation of the introduction/scheme of the tracking project. What do people think, should I put it below the english introduction, making that site a bit more cluttered, or start a new Italian tracking thread?

Congrats on the translation project!

If you think the responses will be in Italian, we better start a new thread, and call it Italian CCSVI Tracking. Add a note & link suggesting if they know English, would be great if they could post it in both.

Want to add a note suggesting people add their stenosis images to their log?

Thanks Sammy for the thoughts! I just posted the new Italian tracking thread! My Italian isn't good enough to add items there, but I'll add the request for posting pictures. I noticed that some of the hard core CCSVI folks have promised to post pictures elsewhere, but never did. I think that might be because not everybody has a public domain site they can post to. I used photobucket for mine and will recommend this in the english tracking. Let me know if you know better options.

Great Idea! A picture is worth a lot of words. Soon as I can figure out how to scan and post my Pics i will. Just noticed a typo on my tracking post, had 6/01/09 instead of 9/01/09 as my follow up date. Fixed! Hands not working well so not posting much, but reading all posts. Thanks Everyone, Mark

Maybe add a translator link in a post to the thread so English speaking persons can read them or do you mean to keep it separate?

Someone asked about a picture hosting site, here's http://www.lookpic.com/

Upload photo, it returns links, the one for Forums uses the format here for urls so you just copy/paste.

Thanks! lookpic is perfect, especially with the ability to resize (made me update my avatar). note that it renames .jpg's to .jpeg, which TIMS doesn't like, so folks will have to go with either .gif or .png

Hey Folks, what do you all think about including pictures of our blockages in the tracking thread? I was just thinking again the last couple of days how I haven't really seen many cases and how incredibly useful it would be to assemble a data base of this here. Now that Dr. Haacke is pointing to us from his site, maybe we can return him a favor! As cheer said, a picture says a thousand words. The only downside of this would be that the thread would get big. Let me know what you think. Thanks

Oh, by the way, you can all request CDROM's with all your MRV images and an included convenient viewing software (windows only unfortunately) free of charge from Stanford! Just sent Alex an email.
Once you have the CDROM's, I can tell you which series to look for if you can't find it yourself, and there are many pieces of software that can take screenshots or grab parts of the screen. Then you can upload to one of several sites hosting images and link in the thread to that. I can help with any of these steps if needed.

I also posted my pictures in the tracking thread.

And for all who are willing to post their images, the best site I've come across (I think SammyJo recommended this) is http://lookpic.com/.

All you need is an image in any size, then lookpic will offer you to resize it to web forum format on their site. It should literally take 5 minutes, just as long as establishing a new thread posting. So you got no excuses, if your tracking entry is missing it officially means you DON'T WANT us to see your info&images and help research into CCSVI!!!

I know, I can be a stubborn fellow...

...but hey, it's true! Very Happy

or maybe a technophobe Dito for me on this just because I seem to crash and burn when on the puter. Love to show off my pics if I can just figure out how. Have all three sets of cd's but hard to get just a good picture out of them yet. Help radeck give us a outline of what to do. Thanks, Mark

I'd love to help as much as I can! Here are the steps involved.

1) find images of your stenosies. You have to find a series of images. First step is to double-click on the big M executable in the CD, this is the image viewer. Then to jump to the next series click the right arrow button that has a "Se" on it. To move forward in images within a series, click the right arrow with an "Im" on it. There's a lot of stuff on those CD's that seems pretty useless, i.e. the images show nothing. One that's really nice is called MRV COR 2d TOF. It's on the third CD in my case. That's the one Joan showed of Jeff I'm guessing, with all cerebral veins and outflow routes shown in a 3D rendering. The problem is that in case of some patients the operator seems to have aborted that scan at jaw level, i.e. if you don't have stenosies above that like me, you won't see yours on this series but will have to take something less nice. It's chopped off in my case...Sad, so I took the next best, called "AX GRE BH LOWER", which shows horizontal cuts (assuming a standing individual here). Just skip forward until you're at the height of your stenosis. For the sideview, the series is called "SAG TRICKS POST".

2) You have to capture that image from your screen. There's a software for this on Macs called "Screencapture Plus", a widget. It's so easy, literally one click. I don't know what to use on a PC to be honest, since I'm not smart enough to use those Smile There are many applications in Linux, so ask me if you have that.

3) Go to http://lookpic.com/ and upload the picture. It's just one click and localization of the screenshot on your computer. Let me know if you have a question.

You and Marie have my email address and are more than welcome to send me the screenshot and I'll take care of the rest. Others can pm me if they need any help, or just ask on this thread.

Thanks...
