Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone might have information or experiencing regarding the location of injections.

Initially, when I started my copaxone, I followed the regimen and rotated between the different sites as they recommended. Some of the locations really stung and it was irritating, so I've been injecting into my buttocks for the past month or so. I haven't had any problems with it. Does anyone know if that could impact the copaxone's absorption into my system?

thanks,

TOL

I had trouble with stinging in the back of my arms. My neuro said I could skip those sites. So I do stomach, buttochs and thighs. I don't know what happens if you only stay with one area. But it seems that it must be ok to skip some.

I do the same. Shouldn't effect how C works, as long as you inject in fat.

i would agree with others that the site of injection shouldn't affect efficacy.

Just try to rotate the sites as much as possible. I stopped doing arms and legs years ago and now do just hips and belly. Guess i could try buttocks as i've felt concerned lately that i'm running out of spots and dont' want to repeat too often.

Do you inject anywhere on your butt? Isn't it then sore when you're sitting?

Instead of doing my arms (I want to keep those intact!) I inject a bit above the sitzbones (sp?) and no it doesn't bother me when I sit down. I do inject at bedtime, to give it a chance to calm down. I also include dates in those little boxes in copaxone planner pictures, in order to try and rotate as much as possible. Still get bruises and lumps, but they are not horrible since I started injecting manually.

Where on your thighs do you all inject? I always do it way on the side, on the inner thigh, because I can't find enough fat elsewhere and don't want to inject into muscle. Is that right or am I setting myself up for more dents because the area I use is smaller?

OK, what are the sitzbones??

I agree, i think injecting manually is better cus you can control the speed and force of the injection. I actually inject fairly slowly.

Sitz bones are sitting bones-- it's all nice and fatty right above them when you sit down-- at least in my case Laughing

ha..ha...now i know what a sitz bone is!!!

brownsfan...peterson would be a great pick for you guys...up here in viking country, he's one of the players they are also hoping to land...

i know this is a copaxone thread, so football conversation is probably not a perfect fit...good luck with your team's draft...maybe we can touch base after the draft on a more appropriate thread...

Oh stop Fern, you're giving me all sorts of ideas there-- but they have nothing to do with injecting Laughing I just sit down, turn around and reach back with my arm--while singing that song-- "you put your left arm in... you shake it all about... " etc! (All those hours of Pilates training are finally paying off!)
