I have heard you can not take LDN with the interferons. I am not sure why. Maybe someone else who knows more can respond.

sorry, this may have been answered elsewhere, but the interferons supress the immune system and LDN stimulates the immune system, so the two work completely against each other. it's one reason why many dr.s won't perscribe LDN because the traditional line for tackling MS is to surpress the immune system, becasue it is faulty.

Like burntsienna, I have not noticed any changes since taking LDN these last several months. It didn't seem to decrease my insulin production (which was the effect I REALLY wanted). So I have stopped.

I have not yet started but will be soon and am very hopeful and encouraged...my neurologist was SO supportive. He knew all about LDN, has several patients on it, and just said, "Yes, it's a good idea....WANT A SCRIPT FOR THAT?" And I was like, "YES!!!"

I did not expect it to be that simple. I was SO happy when I left my appointment the other day!!!

How about Mass Dr's that will prescribe LDN????

I have read alot about this med and want so bad to give it a try. I have tried everything else and now my current neuro doesn't think the Copaxone alone is strong enough. Crying or Very sad They want to start me on steriods every month along with my Copaxone.

I know that is going to be very tough on me and I am not sure I can deal with it. I am still working and steriod treatments prevent my doing my job well. Heck, I can barely function while on steriods.

I would love to find a neuro that will prescribe LDN - I would actually like to switch neuros, I am not to fond of mine. I go back in March and plan on bringing up the whole LDN idea then.

Take care,
Ang

I hope you can find a doctor to prescribe LDN. LDN cannot be taken with immune supressing drugs and not with steroids. LDN is a slow an progressive improvement so stay with it when you start. The optimal dose is 4.5mg daily. If you wish to start slowly begin with 3.0mg for the first month and then increase to 4.5mg. GOOD LUCK!

Thanks!!

I'm in day 4 of a water fast at the moment. Gonna see how far I can go.
Read a book by Dr Joel Fuhrman called "Fasting and Eating for Health".
Thought I'd give it a go.

Got some info sent to me from somebody I emailed about this. Gonna follow up and see if I can get a prescription.

Although we do not keep lists of physicians who might be open to prescribing LDN, here are two websites that should be of assistance in finding such a doctor in your area:
1) www.acam.org
Once there, just choose your state in the Find An ACAM Physician chart.
2) www.lef.org
Once there, click on Health Concerns at the top, then, on its page, click on Innovative Practitioners, and then on Innovative Doctors. Then choose your state or country.

P.S. - And, try asking the many members of the LDN-Yahoo Group.

Saw him today and asked about the LDN. He is willing to prescribe it, but doesn't believe in its effectiveness as he bases his opinions on scientific evidence rather than "anecdotal" and testimonial comments. He prefers Rebif or Copaxone.

Jolley's Compounding Pharmacy is the only one I checked with (short notice) today, and it's $44 for a months supply of 30 capsules.
