I removed SGN-30 from the list (phase 1) since Seattle Genetics no longer makes any mention of multiple sclerosis on their website (that I could find).

I removed A4I from the list in phase 2 because according to clinicaltrials.gov, the trial was withdrawn before recruitment started.

Seeva, here's a bit of a progressive pipeline list for phase's 2 and 3 (the time line for approval of these ranges from rituxan which could be approved this year, to maybe 6-7 years for drugs just entering phase 2 trials):

Phase 3:
- MBP8298 (BioMS) (trial for SPMS)
- Revimmune (aka high dose cyclophosphamide or cytoxan) (Accentia Biopharmaceuticals) (refractory MS - includes SPMS I think, not sure about PPMS)

The CUPID study of cannabinoids (currently on the list in phase 2) in the UK is:

- double-blind
- placebo-controlled
- multi-centre
- 3 years in duration
- and is aiming for enrollment of 500 people

I keep looking for some mention of what phase trial this is but can't find any. So, if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, I'm going to call it a duck...in this case, a phase 3 trial.

About Gemacbio's GEM-SP, I had recently an e-mail contact from a member of the board. She told me the pipeline was in "stand-by" because of a lack of funding. Next step would be a phase IIb.

I added Ocrelizumab (R1594) (Roche/Genentech/Biogen) to the list in phase 2. It's been discussed a bit in the last few months. It has the same CD20 target as rituxan and there has been some debate between the companies on how to proceed with trials, but I think they have been resolved now.

I have been looking for signs of life from the Topiramate (aka Topamax) (with Avonex) phase 2 trial, but can't find any information from the last 2 years. I am taking it off the list. Please let me know if I'm wrong.

What do you think about adding FTY 720 or fingolimod to the list?

In addition to it's well known mechanism of sequestering lymphocytes in lymph nodes, research is showing this drug may promote nerve repair by recruiting oligodendrocytes.

Long anticipated Phase III trial for PPMS'ers is coming. Really.

I've added the herb Cordyseps whch is the basis of FTY 720 to my regiment
just for good measure! You never know.......

FTY720 for RRMS is there in phase 3, but I'd like to see some mention of the PPMS trial from Novartis before adding that one to the list.
