Hi guys

I just wanted to ask if anyone has found anything which helps with this. Mine seems to be getting worse.

My neuro said it's normal for ms patients, but apart from neuropathic pain killers (gabapentin etc), which have some terrible side effects, nothing else was offered.

Thanks

J.

hey there, sorry to hear about your trouble. i don't have this issue per se, except with the nerves in my forearm which is not as related to my ms, i don't suppose - more the carpal tunnel

that said, i have read that several of the b-complex vitamins might be useful against neuropathic pain, including b1 (thiamine) b6 (pyridoxine) and b12 (cobalamin).

if you already take these it could be of use to up the dosage for a week, or investigate absorption cofactors.

Hi Jaded,

This disease is ******er. I also suffer from foot burn which is especially prominent at night. When I started minocycline the burning altered almost immediately and seemed to diminish but then it returned. The trial data on the tetracycline class of antibiotic does look promising so that might be worth pursuing.

I very recently have upped my dosage of maximised curcuminoids to 18grams a day. I have noted a radical reduction in tingling and pain in the foot, knee and leg during the day. This has been bothering me since July 07. I can't be sure that it is the curcumin but it seems likely. I still get pain on the sole of my foot when I go to bed but I've only been taking this dose for 3 days. I'm quite excited that it has seemingly had such a big effect but it could just be random.

Ok, this sounds weird but it works for me on my toes and nearby area. I use muscle rub cream (like Ben Gay). I picked this up somewhere online for those of us with diabetes and it truly works. It's worth a try Cool I also take Lyrica 150 mg at night.

I take Lyrica, 75mg twice a day. Cold weather makes mine much worse so I'm glad it's finally warm. I live in Nebraska and it's been a long winter.

I also have neuropathic pain in my foot. Like Gibbledygook, mine is also worse at night and much worse if I try to fall asleep on my back. I try to fall asleep on my side which alleviates much of the pain. What's interesting is that independently of how I have fallen asleep, I usually wake up lying on my back in the morning and my foot no longer hurts. In fact, first thing in the morning is about the only time of day my foot doesn't hurt. I've had my doctor try to prescribe both neurontin and lyrica but I decided against those and I find I can ignore it most of the time.

Thanks for your replies.

I will give your recommendations a go. NHE, I take ldn which has reduced my night spasms on my leg but the foot pain still goes on.

I'll let you know how I get on.

thanks again

J.
