hey, I am sorry, I've been to this forum for some weeks now and forgot to introduce myself...
my name is veronika and I'm from Slovenia. I have been diagnosed 4 years ago and have been taking rebif for 3,5 years and have now started tysabri on 21/4 but have had a serious relapse since and I can now hardly walk (have had trouble walking for 1,5 years but not so severe and twice problems with eyesight).
I am usually a very positive person, I like to hang out with friends, party and used to go jogging & co. but now I am really being depressed because of this seroius relapse.
I work in finance for a publishing house & bookshops and I really enjoy working though it's kind of hard now all things considered.
oh, yes I am 30 yo, no kids.
if you want to know something else just ask!
and btw, I am really glad I found this forum, it helps me a lot!

Hi veronika,
Welcome to the site and I'm sorry to hear about your recent circumstances.

What are you going to do about future treatment now that things have worked out the way they have??

I'm not an expert on Tysabri, but for a lot of people it's most effective medically accepted treatment available. I'm sure that like anything else, it takes a while to get into your system and show whether it's going to benefit you or not. Hopefully by the time that you're due for the next infusion, you'll have a better idea.

Bob

Hi Lyon!
It was nice to get your reply!
actually I'm trying to cope and walk with a stick (cane? sorry, I don't remember the right english word Confused but you know... My next infusion of tysabri is in 2 weeks and I'll wait till then to see if it's better and decide whether to continue.. The thing is that I planned to go to India to an ayurvedic treatment in a clinic for a month in July and I have informed my neuro about it before starting tysabri and she didn't have any objections and now all of a sudden she thinks it's better if I don't go. If I'd known that I would have started tysabri after India, I now still have to ask her what are her objections really. I find her a bit unprofessional, to say the least. What is your opinion about this travel? any similar experiences anyone?
anyway, it was my bday yesterday and I was maybe even more depressed because of that besides I migh have had a bit too much wine and this was not well accepted by my body today Laughing but I try to think positive, I have no other choice really!
I'll keep you posted about my tysabri decision / changes & co!
thanks, enjoy the sun!

Anita, so glad to run into you! actually I am not much on the Slovenian sites - which one did you have in mind? Anyway, you can also mail me if you want (veronika0105@gmail.com) and I'll be really glad to give you info about my tysabri experience! or you can also call me, my gsm number is 041 739 375!
As for the ayurvedic treatment I don't know much about it... however, I think the problem with my neuro is India not the tretment really... I don't know, maybe because of the possible viruses? I'll ask her and let ou know! I'll get back here but now I have to go.
have a nice day, veronika
