I totally downplay my hotness factor by showing up to work wearing beatnik style gear, and socks with my Birkenstocks. Comfort first!!
(PS Hotness is just a joke! I've never gone for the girlie style of fixing my hair and wearing makeup... I'm au natural!) _________________ Dx RRMS March 5, 2008.

Nenu,
Birkenstocks and socks sounds pretty hot to me. I agree with your preference for the natural look. Remember, I've seen your picture so I know it works for you.

There's a picture of him somewhere buried in this thread. Just look for the guy wearing the shirt from the Saturday Night Fever auditions . Sorry Bob, I just couldn't resist another shiny shirt jab!!
Last night I was going through my photobucket site looking for a picture I could post and I found that shiny shirt pic Ian gave me so much grief about and I had to chuckle!
I think this is from last year in the boat but judging from the little picture at photobucket, the lighting makes it look like I don't have any teeth
I have to agree with Ally regarding the red hair. In school I wanted nothing more than to be invisible and fit in, but I had white, white hair. One of my earliest memories of school was in kindergarten a custodian called me "hey snowball" as a nice gesture, but the last thing I wanted was to be noticed. Even things which others might see as preferable, are liabilities if they draw attention.

Ally you look like a dream. You look completely and totally different than my mental picure save for one thing; your face exudes even more sweetness and kindness than I had imagined, and I imagined you looked kind. I don't mean to gush over you, but you look like the type of person that I would hug every time I saw you, you look as awesome as you 'sound' in cyberspace . _________________ "When you're in jail, a good friend will be trying to bail you out. Nenu - totally agree with Jack - you don't have any need for artifice - gorgeous face, beautiful bone structure, and more importantly, an interesting face, the kind of person I would like to get to know if I met you!
I also like the natural look, but tend to wear my Birks sans socks due to the heat here, I live in cut-offs & flip flops (or Birks!), but have to wear mascara otherwise I will scare young children with my albino rabbit look! It's the only girly thing I have to have...And the only thing I was wearing when my son caught me - he insisted we had to have pics for the thread and I didn't even get to brush my hair! He sat down with me straight away to make sure I posted them. Can't wear foundation, blush, eye shadow & stuff - too pale, I look like a clown or a hooker, depending on your point of view
Hey Bob - I can see your teeth! You look great too (I can see Dom's Nobel prize going up in smoke), and I am sorry I missed the shiney shirt, maybe you can re-post it for old times' sake - I can't see your eyes here & I have to see the eyes...But glad that you get the thing with the hair - my Mom had black hair and she loved my red, so she wouldn't let me colour it when I was in school - I just wanted to look like everyone else. Do you guys have Assembly in school, where the whole school meets in the morning for news, bible reading etc? We did, and you betcha that if I whispered to someone during the prayer, I was always caught - just couldn't hide or blend - the hair is really flaming red!
Also got called lots of nasty names by nasty little kids - made me much tougher, though!
Lew - you are such a sweetie! I know that you feel so fortunate to have your family (as you should), but they are also blessed to have you too - being kind is a great way to be remembered. You and the other good folks in the forum (even Bob!) have been such rocks for me during some bad times and I think being in this boat makes all of us try harder to be kind - imagine having ms AND being a horrible person!
Although I do have my monster moments, as I suppose we all must at times...The complexities are what make us interesting, no?
You also look mighty huggable too, so I send a hug through cyberspace, all the way from Africa..It's funny - when I was working, I was probably the only person in the company who had ever hugged and kissed (cheek-peck) the MD (he was very shy, so most folks thought he was stand-offish), and my regular greeting for clients was a hug (when appropriate)!
I just like people...
Hope I don't sound like an over-eager puppy Just rely on you all knowing what a soppy cow I am _________________ Ally

MS… It only ever happens to attractive, good looking and downright gorgeous people!
(…which also explains why Bob will never, ever get it). Now, where shall I put that Nobel prize?

Bob, good to see you. I've looked for the shiny-shirt picture before, but it was removed. Heck, I don't know, Dom, he might get MS after all.
Thank you Terry! I'm proud to be included among the "attractive, good looking and downright gorgeous people" DESPITE the opinion of my evil twin!

Hey Bob - I also said you looked great! Does that not count for something, especially amongst kindred ' childhood freak' spirits? _________________ Ally

Yes, that counts for a lot and I appreciate it, but at 53 years old I'm slow and can only respond to one thing at a time and her message came in first!
I was working on a GREAT post for you in which I used the words "HOT" and "WONDERFUL DISPOSITION", "HIGHLY INTELLIGENT" and I think I even threw in a "RESPONSIBLE" or two, but I accidentally deleted it when I was rushing to assuage your concern.
I'll try to recreate that post as soon as I remember exactly what I had written.........what was it that we were talking about again??

Ha Ha Bob! I started out on your side here (or maybe on the fence) but I am really gonna look for that shiney shirt pic now...
Really Bob, you should know that I am not some ditzy and frivilous young thing who can be flattered into submission, but a respectable middle-aged harpy - you are only a few years older than me, you know. If I had started having kids at the right age, I could be a Granny...
You only just redeemed yourself with the 'highly intelligent' and 'responsible', now if I could only believe you meant them, I might get off that fence....
Pic with eyes please - you are still hiding behind those sunspecs, and if I have been displayed in all my naked face glory, the least you can do is reciprocate. You also don't have to wear make-up, but honestly, mascara helps
Take care sweetie - big hug from me. _________________ Ally

I wondered if I was going to get away with those reflecto sunglasses!
Someone with a fast internet connection will not only be lucky enough to look the great Oz in the eyes, but to also see him in all his glory as he sits in front of the computer and plays on thisisms!! http://tinyurl.com/5tabpo

Nice pic Bob!!
Jack, natural is the way to go! I have too many other things to think of when I wake up and get my day going to worry about dressing up for anyone but me!
I'll toss this one up... I really don't think I look much different now than I did in this picture, which is from November 01.
I keep saying I first noticed something was awry in 2001 with weird neurological stuff happening... but I recall living at this place after my ex BF had moved out from Ontario, and the 2 of us had lived in 2 earlier apartments... now I'm almost thinking it was in fact 2000 that I first had visual garbage happening. It's funny how I've lost such a concept of time. So maybe I've noticed my MS oddities since 8 years ago? It wouldn't surprise me :p. I'm just that stubborn that I dealt with it and sucked it up! _________________ Dx RRMS March 5, 2008.

Bob,
You need to share how you managed to post video, for those of us less internet capable than you. Pictures are great but getting to hearing a voice is really cool. That would be a great way to bring our group even closer.

Thanks Terry, I hit the "on" button and
A: got paranoid
B: couldn't think of a damned thing to say
but I knew that if I did it a second time it would seem rehearsed and I didn't want it rehearsed.

Hi Jack,
thisisms doesn't host pictures but allows links to offsite storage and that's the method in which we share pics. With it in mind that a file is a file I uploaded a movie file to photobucket and linked to that post ALMOST the same as I would have a picture.
I say ALMOST as you would a picture because some people don't have high speed internet so I didn't want to put the file location between image brackets and cause it to download immediately. Because movie files are so large, I didn't want to force people with phone modems to have to endure the file downloading without choice when they view that particular page. Putting only the web storage location gives them the choice of clicking on the file or not.
Unlike pics, when you upload videos to photobucket, it only gives you the file location, which is exactly what you want to copy and past to the thisisms post.
Was that a good explanation?? If not, don't be afraid to ask again
