Well it all started back last summer with dizzy spells and floaty feelings (feet felt like sponge)
Then December 07 i was rushed into Hospital with severe kidney infection i was so sick with it i colapsed with dehydration .. in and out all over christmas and new year for IV antibiotics and fluids ..Turns out it was the start of urine retention.. then bam! complete retention i have to self cath 5 times a day ...
Symptoms since :

Blur vision
Urine retention (complete)
Spasms in arms and neck
pins and needles in arms and neck
Numbness in fingers
Cramp in legs
Sick with heat

Had 1st visit with Neuro last week he did a few tests and has put me forward for an MRI and LP .. All he is saying so far is that it is a neurological problem but cant DX me until further testing is done...

My GP thinks MS and has done for a while .. I am aware there are other neuro problems it could be so i will just have to play the waiting game.

Cheers for the warm welcome Rachy x

I know all about the piss retention(sorry for the language) before i wa ever dx i had two trips to the ER with real high fever. After a couple of surgeries by a urologist ,surgeries that were definetly not needed, i was dx with ms by a nuero surgeon. Well he found it but it was a bout 8 months later before my nuero finally gives me a definite dx. I too have to cath , usually about once or twice a day. Not something I share but there it is. I also went almost completly blind in my left eye and completly numb from chest down (twice), with my first and secound flare up. Now I'm am way better than before. I have recieved rituxan therapy and at times am symptom free. I went to my nuero today and was complaining about my sleep or lack of so he is going to do a sleep study. To see how and what type of sleep i'm getting or not getting. Well good to meet you and TTYL arti
BTW I am from Texas. So Howdy Wink

Welcome Rachy,

You sound like you have a good sense of humor, and that will help you through this shite. Me you and Shannon (Arit) sound like we got some seriously f'ed up bladders. Mine is probably my most 'advanced' symptom. I had to fly yesterday and I was mortified that i would really have to pee when you're not allowed to move around so I didn't drink anything for about 4 hours before. I made it, but just barely. I, like you, don't void much so my bladder is always about 4 oz. from saying "PISS.. NOW". Won't be long before I'm going in where stuff is only supposed to go out Laughing , but if Shannon can take it, so can I.

He is a little wuss boy so I know I can take it (ha ha Shannon, you know I love 'ya!). Seriously, you will find some good help here and some good cyber friends like Shannon to help you through the rough patches. Keep your chin up and try to laugh often. I saw you and your girls in the pictures section. They are beautiful. My daughter is twelve and I have a pic of our family buried in that thread somewhere.

Well good luck, sucks you have to be here, but you are at the right place.

Lew

Hey Rachy

Good to know you - also caught your pics - gorgeous!

All the best - look forward to chatting some more.

JL

If I can recall, the correct response to my 'good day, how are you?', should be iawn dioch, a chi? - fine thanks, and you? The Llanfer you refer to is on Anglessey, just accross the Menai Straits from Bangor - I actually had to do Welsh as a 'O' level - half the TV was in Welsh, and the older folks in the villages only spoke Welsh. It is THE most beautiful place - I have great memories, but it was a LONG time ago (if I tell you I graduated high school in the mid-'80's, you will understand) - so I have totally forgotten the language (not something you ever really hear outside Wales, and North Wales was arguably more staunch with the language than the South of the country in those days), which is a pity - I also used to be able to converse ok in French too, but alas, that too has disappeared and I keep hearing Afrikaans or Zulu when I try to remember a Welsh or French word!
It is so sad... Embarassed

cool Smile i have been there too, but just a few days here and there every few years or so as i grew up, have not been to the UK since 1988! omg, 20 years. perhaps i should get on that lol :S
my dad's university friend graduated from engineering in cardiff and opened up a pub, which i remember visiting... he moved a bit, but this one location, there was a fight and one guy bit the other's ear and the blood shot through the air and left a big stain down the wall, brought in a lot of sight-seeing customers haha!
i know what you mean about remembering words in the wrong language ha the pitfalls of partial multilinguism hey Wink

Welcome Rachy32,

I also saw you and your daughters pics. The three of you are all quite beautiful.

Sorry I can't say hello in Welsh like some of our more worldly members Wink

I do come from Welsh stock though, on my mothers side, albeit in the 1820's (ok I confess to being bit of a genology bug).

Anyway, welcome and I look forward to hearing from you regularly.

Jack.
