I need some help on this potential symptom. It's only been one day so I may be freaking out, but the issue came on in dramatic fashion (overnight) and I can't figure out a root cause. I went to bed last night 100% baseline normal. Eyes a little blurry, legs a little weak, needing to pee, but otherwise normal. I wake up this morning and my left ear is ringing/roaring like I went to a Kiss show and stood in front of the monitors. I can't "yawn it out" or anything. I figured I just slept on it funny, but I can't hear a damn thing out of my left side. Since it just occured, maybe it will go away during the day today. I suppose this could have nothing to do with my MS, but it's puzzling. I've never heard of it as an MS symptom, but then again I never looked for it either. I have also never had anything come on this quick before. I mean last night fine, this morning, over 50% hearling loss only on the left side. Anyone experience this before?

Loobie get on to your neuro asap.

Don't mean to freak you out but it can be a MS symptom and you may need IV steroids for it, and usually the sooner the better if t was that kind of hearing loss.

This happened to me 10 years ago with my right ear, and happened within 20 seconds. edited to say: I was told I had "Sudden sensorineural hearing loss" most likely caused by MS. Thinking of you Loobie, hope it clears up for you very soon.

Lew it maybe something to ask your Dr. about as mentioned above ,my wife and I had a big argument this weekend over the volume level of the TV. I have to have it "loud" as she says but to me it just sounds fine. Having worked around alot of loud jobs i'm sure that my hearing has been beaten up some. It reminds me of a joke:

This old man and woman were broke down just outside of Dallas
An old cowboy stopped by to ask if he could lend a hand
The cowboy and the oldman had the hood up and were talking
The cowboy asked were you folks from
The old man said Beaumont
About that time the old mans wife hung her head out the car window and said
"What'd he say?"
The old man explained to the cowboy that she was hard of hearing and turned and yelled " he wants to know where were from"
The cowboy said man I had one of the worst pieces of ass from Beaumont
About that time the old lady hung her head back out the window and again said " What'd he say"
The old man tired of repeating casually leaned back around the hood and said " He thinks he know you"

Hope you get to feeling better, later arti

I'm going to my GP at 2:00 to have him make sure I don't have something in there or an infection. I have no pain or anything. If he finds nothing, I'll call my neuro. Now I've worked around stamping presses for 20 years and I do have some hearing loss like Shannon is referring to, but this is a very drastic, sudden change. Hopefully my GP says I have an infection or something. But if not, I guess I'll go see the damn neuro.
