Hi! I've recently "fired" my 16 year old son's neuro, and we're seeking another doctor for him. I know I shouldn't have gotten rid of him before finding someone else, but he was so negligent in my son's care that I really had no other choice. I'm not necessarily interested in finding a MS specialist, just a good neuro with a decent bedside manner! My experience with MS specialist is that NOTHING is an emergency or requires immediate attention, and I tend to disagree. I've worked in the medical field my entire life, so I am not one of those "over-reactors", I just expect attention for my son when it is needed. I don't expect to wait 1-3 weeks for a phone call to be returned, you know???

Anyway, if anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. Take care!

Kim

No doubt: Ram Sriram from Vanderbilt University
(email him at subramaniam.sriram@Vanderbilt.Edu) - see later postings on minocycline.

You can also try your nearest MS Society chapter. Ask for their referral person. You'll get a list of neuros, and often some informative commentary. I have had excellent results from the MS Society chapters in Seattle and Boston. Good luck to you. Neurologists can be very odd ducks. Sad
