Question about eyesight

I have a question for those who read this post...

Last night I fell asleep in bed watching TV, after about and hour I woke up.... I was hot so I stood up to turn on the ceiling fan and noticed that I couldn't see right. At first I thought my eyes were just trying to adjust, but they never did snap out of it. Both of my eyes worked fine by theirselves, but they weren't seeing properly together.

I've had nystagmus before (that was my presenting symptom with MS). I know what that is like and this wasn't it. I could still see, but it was almost as if I was cross-eyed, yet my eyes didn't appear to be cross eyed in the mirror.

I went back to sleep, not wanting to think of what it may mean (a relapse!), and when I woke up in the morning, I didn't have the problem. I did have a slight residual effect, but very very slight. I still do. Its hardly noticeable, but since I am in tune to these things TOO much I can't stop paying attention to it.

It doesn't affect my eye sight at all, or at least yet.

So, did I have a relapse? Has anyone else ever experienced anything like this?

Any feedback or input would be appreciated.

Brock,
When my eyes are tired, especially at the end of the day, they do the same thing. In the morning they are fine. I don't think it is a relapse as long as it corrects itself the next day.

I was pretty much gonna say what lorias said - if it lasts then it prolly is, if it's only short then it could be down to tiredness or stress (everything goes off when i am tired).

Thank you both for your input. I hope you are both right. I have really had no other visual symptoms as of yet (knock on wood). I am going to keep my "eye" on it though (no pun intended). We will see how it goes.

I am still hoping that Minocycline has my back Wink

How are you doing Lori? Are you on the ABX protocol that you started? Have you had any other follow-ups with Vanderbilt? Any MRI's?

How is Naples?

I feel the abx protocol is going very well. I have seen some improvements and had my follow up appointment at Vanderbilt yesterday. We are currently traveling and I won't have internet access for the next several days. Once I get back online I am going to post about my appointment. Some things were changed and modified and I want to take the time to post completely.

Good luck with your eyes! I think it will resolve! Just may take some time.

I have been experiencing a similar problem to yours, Brock. Mine occurs when I am hot and/or tired. I just feel like my eyes are not working properly together...no double vision, but just not right.

I chalk this up to subtle alignment problems with my eyes. I assume this is due to my faulty nerve conduction and affecting my eye muscles that control movement, not my optic nerve. It can be quite disconcerting, but unless you are experiencing double vision I would not worry too much.

If what you say is true, that means it was a relapse then right?

I haven't had any other issues, and now I have no other symptom of what happened. One thing I was thinking about was that I was laying down with my head on the pillow, but I had my head kind of tilted so that if I moved my eyes (my TV is off to the left) then I could see the tv from my bed. Then I fell asleep. Not sure if it makes sense that the position of my eyes were so that they got stuck???? I dont know. It was really wierd, and kind of scary, but like I say, when I woke up it was ok. Thanks for your input.

MS sucks.
